On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the death of Georges Méliès , French pioneer of cinema, several initiatives will be undertaken to pay tribute to him and to make more people discover the fairy-like jewels that the magician created at the beginning of the last century.

Studio Canal Vidéo has published a 2 DVD box set comprising no less than 30 of these films shot between 1896 and 1912 remastered for the occasion, i.e. nearly 3 hours of footage, bonuses and a 32-page booklet.

Pierre-Yves Plat was brought on this occasion to collaborate with Lawrence Léherissey (great-great-grandson of Méliès). Pierre-Yves Plat composed ten of the soundtracks used in this DVD.
