Night train  is a  standard  blues first recorded by  Jimmy forrest  in 1951.  The theme  was originally a simple opening riff of the track  That's the Blues, Old Man, recorded by  Johnny hodges  in 1940.  Duke Ellington  later used it in the title  Happy-Go-Lucky Local. Jimmy Forrest then recorded it, giving it its final title and inserting a solo of his own.
